The Art of Giving is a special collection that aims to raise aid for the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (RCRC). This exclusive collection features artworks by Crypto.com and 33 artists, where 100% of the primary sale proceeds from the drop will be transferred to the RCRC in support of the victims of the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
In these perilous times, it comes as no surprise that several of the artists have chosen to convey messages of love, hope, and peace in the art pieces they have gifted for this cause.
Psychedelic artist Ugonzo Art created customised PsychoMolly #Peace and PsychoKitty #Peace specially for this collection, and both are bearing the words on their outfits. Before experimenting with NFTs, Ugonzo earned a reputation for his surreal murals and trippy pop culture portraits – garnering a 100,000-plus social media after gaining celebrity attention.
The same message is also sent by the AlphaPeace collectible, a sentient robot designed by accomplished 3D artist Travis Ragsdale who has been making 3D art and animation for nearly 15 years. “The primary inspiration behind this AlphaBot was peace and unity. We are all one human species and we should stick together to help lift others up. We believe that if we are in a position to help people in need, then we should do so, to the best of our ability. Our heart goes out to all of those affected by this, and we are hopeful that if we all work together, we can make a real difference in the lives of all the people in need,” the artist shared.
Ali Jardine, a pioneer of iPhone art who gifted the hope+feather art piece shared that “Peace, freedom, hope, and love inspired this piece.” Other art pieces in the collection that reflect the same theme of peace and love include the Serenity Lion by Crypto.com, Red Sun by Fran Rodriguez, and A Ray of Sunshine by Rank SSS.
We spoke with some of the artists about their work and there is a common motif–using the power of art to spread positivity while supporting those in need.
