What are Stellar and XLM?
Stellar is a public blockchain built for payments. It was made to support digital representations of different currencies, and its native token is the lumen (XLM).
Stellar accounts must hold a small number of lumens, and lumens are used to pay transaction fees on the network. That gives XLM a specific network role: It helps denominate network requirements and can act as a medium of exchange between otherwise illiquid assets.
How can you buy Stellar in the US?
One option is the Crypto.com App. The buying flow is:

Trading is subject to account verification and eligibility.

US users can deposit funds by bank transfer, credit/debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or crypto transfer. The US dollar (USD) is the primary fiat currency accepted for US-based users.
If you deposit USD directly via Local Bank Transfer, you can avoid foreign exchange fees when buying Stellar. Other transaction fees and spread may apply. ACH and wire transfer are listed funding routes for the USD Fiat Wallet.
