What are Sei and SEI?
Sei is a Layer 1 blockchain designed for trading applications. Here, 'trading' means more than a single marketplace: The project describes digital asset exchange as a function used across decentralized finance, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and gaming.
SEI is the native crypto-asset of the Sei blockchain. On the network, SEI is used to pay transaction fees, can be delegated to validators to help support consensus and gives holders the right to vote on governance proposals.
How to buy SEI in the US
In the Crypto.com App, the basic flow is:
- Create an account and complete identity verification.
- Deposit funds or use an available payment method.
- Tap 'Buy' and search for Sei.
- Enter the amount you want to spend.
- Tap 'Confirm' when you're ready.
Trading is subject to account verification and eligibility. Product availability may depend on your jurisdiction.
Can you buy a fraction of SEI?
Yes. You don't need to buy a whole coin. US users can purchase fractional amounts of Sei for as little as US$1.
That minimum is only a purchase-size detail. Before confirming, check the asset, dollar amount and payment method you intend to use.
How can you pay for SEI in the US?
For US users, the US Dollar (USD) is the primary fiat currency accepted. You can deposit USD by ACH or wire transfer to your Fiat Wallet, or use payment options such as a credit or debit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay where available.
Depositing USD directly by local bank transfer can help avoid foreign exchange fees when buying SEI.
