What are Pendle and PENDLE?
Pendle is a permissionless yield-trading protocol in decentralized finance (DeFi). It lets users tokenize and trade the future yield of yield-bearing assets.
At a high level, Pendle separates a yield-bearing asset into two parts: Principal Tokens (PT), which represent the principal, and Yield Tokens (YT), which represent the yield portion. That distinction is the core idea behind Pendle’s yield markets.
