What are Ethena and ENA?
Ethena is a synthetic dollar protocol built on crypto rails. It issues USDe, a fully backed, dollar-denominated digital asset, alongside sUSDe.
USDe is not the same as USDC or USDT. It is backed with crypto assets and corresponding short futures positions, which means its risks are different. ENA is Ethena’s governance token and is used for governance, including risk management frameworks.
How to buy Ethena (ENA) in the US
In the Crypto.com App, a One-Time Buy flow works like this:
- Create an account and complete identity verification.
- Deposit funds or transfer crypto into your wallet.
- Tap 'Buy' and choose Ethena.
- Enter the amount you want to purchase and select your payment method.
- Review the order details and confirm when you’re ready.
For One-Time orders, the conversion rate is valid for 15 seconds. If you don’t confirm within that time, the rate refreshes.
What payment methods can you use to buy Ethena?
US-based users can buy Ethena with US dollars (USD). Funding options include bank transfer, credit/debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or crypto transferred to your wallet.
Depositing USD directly via Local Bank Transfer can help avoid foreign exchange fees. Payment method availability can vary by jurisdiction, so check the available options before confirming.
How much Ethena do you need to buy?
You can buy fractional amounts of Ethena, so you don’t need to purchase a whole token. The minimum buy or sell amount for One-Time orders is the equivalent of US$1.
Once a One-Time order has been placed, it can’t be canceled because it is executed immediately. Review the asset, payment method and amount before you confirm.
