What are Cosmos and ATOM?
Cosmos is a blockchain network built around interoperability: Independent blockchains, often called zones, can connect and share data or tokens. The Cosmos Hub is the first blockchain in the Cosmos Network, and ATOM is its native token.
ATOM is used on the Cosmos Hub for governance and validator participation. Validators use ATOM to help process transactions and support the network, while holders can use ATOM to take part in governance under the network’s rules.
How to buy Cosmos in the US
In the Crypto.com App, the basic flow is:
- Create an account and complete identity verification.
- Fund your account.
- Tap 'Buy' and search for Cosmos.
- Enter the US dollar amount you want to spend.
- Tap 'Confirm' to complete the purchase.
What payment methods can you use for Cosmos?
US users can buy or fund Cosmos purchases with US dollars (USD). Supported routes listed for Cosmos include bank transfer, credit or debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and crypto transfer.
If you deposit USD directly by Local Bank Transfer, you can avoid foreign exchange fees when buying Cosmos with USD. Costs can still vary by route, so check the details before confirming.
Can you buy a fraction of Cosmos (ATOM)?
You don’t need to buy a whole Cosmos at once. US customers can buy fractional amounts, with purchases from as little as US$1.
This can help if you want to choose a specific dollar amount instead of matching the price of one full token. Before confirming, check the asset, payment method and dollar amount in the App.
