What are Compound and COMP?
Compound is a protocol on Ethereum that creates money markets: pools of crypto assets where interest rates are set algorithmically based on supply and demand. In those markets, users can supply assets for interest or borrow assets without negotiating terms such as maturity, interest rate or collateral with another counterparty.
COMP is the ERC-20 governance token of the Compound protocol. COMP token-holders and their delegates can debate, propose and vote on changes to the protocol.
How to buy Compound in the Crypto.com App
In the Crypto.com App, the basic buy flow is:
- Create an account and complete verification.
- Add funds to your account.
- Tap 'Buy' and search for Compound.
- Enter the amount of United States dollars (USD) you want to spend.
- Review the order details and tap 'Confirm'.
Trading is subject to account verification and eligibility.
Can you buy less than one COMP?
Yes. US users can buy fractional amounts of Compound, so you don’t need to buy a whole token. Fractional purchases can start from US$1.
Check the amount and any applicable costs before you confirm.
How can US users pay for Compound?
For US users, USD is the primary fiat currency accepted in the App. You can deposit USD by bank transfer or wire transfer to a Fiat Wallet, then use that balance to buy Compound.
The buy flow also supports payment options listed on this page, including credit/debit card, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Depositing USD directly by local bank transfer can help you avoid foreign exchange fees when buying Compound with USD.
