What are Arbitrum and ARB?
Arbitrum runs on top of Ethereum as a Layer 2 blockchain platform. It provides infrastructure for applications, tokenization and dedicated blockchain environments. In practice, Arbitrum executes transactions offchain and uses Ethereum for settlement and data availability.
ARB is the governance token for the Arbitrum DAO. Holders can vote on on-chain proposals that affect Arbitrum One and Arbitrum Nova, including chain upgrades and how DAO Treasury funds are used. ARB holders can also delegate voting power to another wallet.
How to buy Arbitrum in the US
In the Crypto.com App, the basic flow is:
- Create an account and confirm your email.
- Deposit funds or transfer crypto to your wallet.
- Select Arbitrum, enter the amount and confirm your purchase.
What payment methods can you use to buy ARB?
US users can buy Arbitrum with US dollars (USD). You can fund your account via bank transfer, credit/debit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, or transfer crypto to your wallet.
If you deposit USD directly via Local Bank Transfer, you can avoid foreign exchange fees when buying Arbitrum.
Do you need to buy a whole ARB token?
No. Cryptocurrencies are divisible, so US users can buy fractional amounts of Arbitrum for as little as US$1. This means you can enter a dollar amount instead of buying one full ARB token.
