SINGAPORE, March 28, 2022 – Crypto.com, the world’s fastest growing cryptocurrency platform, has named Katie Mitchell as SVP, Head of Engagement.
In this role, Mitchell and her team will lead Crypto.com’s advocacy work with governments, industry partners, and international organizations, serving as the company’s diplomatic corps. Mitchell is based in Singapore and is reporting to Matt David, Chief Communications Officer of Crypto.com.

Mitchell was most recently Global Head of Public Policy at payment infrastructure fintech Nium. At Nium, she built and led the company’s first Public Policy function and worked with lawmakers and regulators across the globe to develop policies around financial inclusion, digital transformation, cross-border payments, and fintech. Also a member of the Executive Management team, she led strategies that drove new market entry and growth, catapulting Nium to Southeast Asia’s first business to business fintech unicorn. Prior to that, Mitchell spent a decade in Government Engagement and Policy at Visa. She served as the Head of Strategic Initiatives for Government Engagement where she developed a global advisory service for technology partners expanding their operations to regions around the world, and especially into Asia Pacific. In addition to leading both pan-regional and market-level Government Engagement activities across the Asia Pacific, Mitchell also served as Visa’s chief advocate for innovation and technology policy in Washington, D.C.
Mitchell sits on the Advisory Board of the Emerging Payments Association Asia and is in the Leadership Circle of Foreign Policy for America. She recently served as one of the leading members of Singapore’s inaugural Payments Sub-Committee under the Singapore Fintech Association, and was a designated representative in the World Economic Forum’s Innovator’s Community. Committed to inclusion and service, Katie has worked as a pro-bono consultant to non-profit organizations, start-ups, and new enterprises operating in markets throughout South Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Middle East. She has volunteered as an English teacher in the Kurdish region of Northern Iraq and has been part of a documentary film team in Kenya on behalf of the Clinton Global Initiative.
