Crypto.com Receives an Authorization as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider Under the EU Markets in Crypto Assets Regulation (MiCA)

What does this mean for Crypto.com users?

Malta, 21 March 2025 – Crypto.com announced on 27 January 2025 that it received an authorization as Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) pursuant to Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) Regulation from the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA). 

Foris DAX MT Limited (DAX MT)  has been authorized as a CASP under MiCA by the MFSA to provide the following services: 1. Exchange of crypto-assets for funds; 2. Exchange of crypto-assets for other crypto-assets; 3. Reception and transmission of orders for crypto-assets on behalf of clients; 4. Execution of orders for crypto-assets on behalf of clients; 5. Transfer services for crypto-assets on behalf of clients; and 6. Custody and administration of crypto-assets on behalf of clients.

As a condition of receiving the CASP authorisation under MiCA, Foris DAX MT Limited surrendered its Virtual Financial Assets Service Provider License. DAX MT will continue providing services to its customers through the MiCA license without interruption. This license update retains all the customer protection measures and information disclosures that were previously in place and enhances them to comply with MiCA standards. Its implementation now enables Crypto.com to expand its industry-leading services to the rest of the European Economic Area (EEA). 

On 12 February 2025, Foris DAX MT Limited successfully passported its services across the EEA.
