What is Litecoin (LTC)?

How Litecoin Works

This allows for faster transaction confirmations. It also uses a different hashing algorithm called Scrypt. Like Bitcoin, Litecoin is a decentralized, open-source project that operates on a proof-of-work consensus algorithm. This means that miners use their computational power to validate transactions and secure the network in exchange for rewards. The total supply of Litecoin is capped at 84 million coins, which is four times the total supply of Bitcoin.
