76ers Legacy 09: The Chant

The Philadelphia 76ers and Crypto.com jointly present the ninth drop in the 76ers Legacy Collection series, “76ers Legacy 09: The Chant”. This series showcases 13 officially licensed commemorative tickets highlighting iconic games and moments that took place during the ‘Philadelphia Spectrum’ era of basketball. 

Drop Period: 15 February 2022, 14:00 UTC – 17 February 2022, 14:00 UTC 

This drop commemorates the moment when the 76ers defeated the Boston Celtics in Game 7 of the 1981-82 Eastern Conference Finals, sparking “Beat L.A.” chants from the Boston crowd, ahead of an NBA Finals series against the Los Angeles Lakers. 

Game 7 was a 120-106 result that included 34 points from Andrew Toney and 29 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, 3 steals, and 3 blocks from Julius Erving. The following post-season, on 31 May, 1983, the 76ers defeated the Lakers 115-108 to win the NBA title. The Sixers culminated a 65-17 regular season and a 12-1 run through the playoffs with a sweep of the Lakers in the NBA Finals.

The “76ers Legacy 09: The Chant” collection includes three NFTs and a total of 50 editions, with prices starting at USD 300. Each NFT is authenticated in partnership with Crypto.com, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Sixers Youth Foundation.
