  • Loaded Lions announced the eligibility criteria for more special groups for the upcoming airdrop of its official token, $LION. This includes holders of certain NFT collections and Mane City Partners, in addition to the groups announced earlier.
  • Abstract, a Layer-2 (L2) blockchain developed by Igloo Inc., the parent firm of the NFT project Pudgy Penguins, launched on the mainnet. Built using  ZKsync’s ZK stack, the L2 focuses on fostering crypto communities and supporting consumer-facing Web3 applications. Abstract offers native account abstraction to enable user-friendly features like email and social logins. It also unveiled its consumer blockchain platform, The Portal, designed to let users instantly access its decentralised apps with a single email address.
  • Pudgy Penguins announced a partnership with minini, a popular IP from the South Korean brand LINE Friends. This collaboration aims to integrate minini into the Pudgy Penguins ecosystem, offering new engagement opportunities for fans of both brands.
  • OpenSea launched its OS2 platform in private beta, introducing a new user interface and an experience points (XP) system to encourage user engagement. However, the exclusive early access granted only to Gemesis NFT holders drew backlash from its community, particularly from users who had contributed to the platform.
  • Ubisoft introduced voxelised avatars from its blockchain game, Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles, to the Ethereum-based game, The Sandbox. These avatars feature battlefield-inspired designs and are offered as NFTs that can be used within The Sandbox metaverse. 
  • ZED RUN, the digital horse racing platform, will close on 28 February and be succeeded by ZED Champions. After Zed Run closes, players will have a month to claim, buy, or trade their reward badges. These badges will transfer to Zed Champions, granting users eligibility for new horses. However, the horse NFTs from the game will not be carried over.
