Tokenized Perpetual Gold Markets Now Live on the Crypto.com Exchange
Leveraged and spot access via XAUT and PAXG

Gold remains a focal asset during inflation cycles, interest rate shifts, currency movements, and periods of macro volatility. Its role in global markets continues to attract participants seeking diversified exposure to macro-driven price dynamics.
Eligible users on the Crypto.com Exchange can now access tokenized gold markets through:
- XAUT (Tether Gold)
- PAXG (Pax Gold)
In addition to spot markets, users can trade Tokenized Gold Perpetual Contracts, enabling leveraged participation in gold price movements within the same Exchange environment.
This structure provides both spot and derivatives access within a unified digital market.
Tokenized Gold: XAUT and PAXG
XAUT and PAXG are tokenized gold assets issued by third parties. Each token represents physical gold held in professional vaults under issuer-defined custody, reserve management, audit, and redemption terms.
When trading XAUT/USD or PAXG/USD on the Exchange, users access gold price exposure in digital form through spot markets. Settlement occurs digitally, and there is no requirement to store, transport, insure, or physically manage bullion.
Key features:
- Tokenized gold backed by physical reserves
- Professional vault custody managed by the issuer
- Transparent reserve and audit frameworks defined by the issuer
- Tradable on spot markets via XAUT/USD and PAXG/USD
- Redemption governed exclusively by issuer-defined terms
Crypto.com does not custody the physical gold backing these tokens and does not administer redemption mechanics.
Perpetual Contracts
Tokenized Gold Perpetual Contracts enable users to trade gold price movements with leverage through derivatives markets on the Exchange.
These contracts support:
- Long or short positioning
- 24/7 market access
- Continuous contracts without expiry
- Margin-based trading mechanics
Perpetuals provide leveraged exposure to gold price movements without requiring users to hold spot tokenized gold. As with all leveraged derivatives, gains and losses are amplified and may exceed initial margin in certain circumstances.
Market Structure
Tokenized gold markets on the Crypto.com Exchange now support two distinct access formats:
- Spot exposure through XAUT and PAXG
- Leveraged exposure through Tokenized Gold Perpetual Contracts
This enables users to select either direct tokenized gold exposure or derivatives-based positioning, depending on strategy, time horizon, and risk profile.
Important Considerations
XAUT and PAXG are issued by third parties. Custody, reserves, audit processes, and redemption are governed by issuer-defined terms. Users should review relevant issuer documentation prior to participation.
Gold Perpetual Contracts are derivatives instruments involving leverage and may not be suitable for all users.
Availability is subject to eligibility requirements and jurisdictional limitations.
