Crypto.com Obtains Restricted Dealer Registration in Canada

The restricted dealer registration allows Crypto.com Canada to continue offering crypto asset products and services to Canadians while it seeks registration as an investment dealer in Canada and membership with the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO).

May 12, 2025 – Crypto.com Canada announced today that it received a restricted dealer registration on May 8, 2025 in each of the provinces and territories of Canada. The restricted dealer registration allows Crypto.com Canada to continue offering crypto asset products and services to Canadians while it seeks registration as an investment dealer in Canada and membership with the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO).

Crypto.com was the first crypto trading platform to sign a Pre-registration Undertaking with the Canadian Securities Administrators and the Ontario Securities Commission in August 2022. Since that time, Crypto.com has worked with Canadian securities regulatory authorities to meet the requirements for registration as a restricted dealer.

Crypto.com Custody Trust Company, a chartered trust company licensed by the New Hampshire Banking Department as a non-depository trust company¹, will be the primary custodian for the digital assets of Crypto.com’s Canadian customers

The restricted dealer registration obtained by Crypto.com Canada adds to the expanding list of regulatory licenses, approvals and registrations obtained by various other Crypto.com entities around the world, including, but not limited to, a MiCA license, various U.S. Money Transmitter Licenses, U.S. Designated Contracts Market and Derivatives Clearing Organization licenses, a Major Payment Institution license in Singapore, a UK Electronic Money Institution license, and a Virtual Asset Service Provider license in Dubai.
