What are Bittensor and TAO?
Bittensor is an open network where independent subnets produce digital commodities, including compute, inference, storage and prediction. In simple terms, a subnet is a smaller market inside the network focused on a specific type of work.
The Bittensor chain pays participants in TAO, the network’s token. Miners produce the commodity, validators score miners, subnet creators define each subnet’s incentive mechanism and stakers back validators with TAO.
How can you buy Bittensor (TAO) in the US?
In the Crypto.com App, the basic flow is:
- Sign up and complete identity verification.
- Top up your account.
- Go to the trading screen, select Bittensor and complete your order.
Trading is subject to account verification and eligibility.
What funding methods can you use for TAO?
You can fund your account in the Crypto.com App with bank transfers, including ACH or wire, debit or credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal or crypto deposited from another wallet.
If you deposit TAO from an external wallet, use the deposit details shown in the App and check that the token and network are supported. Sending a non-supported token or using the wrong address may result in loss of tokens, and crypto transactions are irreversible.
Bittensor (TAO) deposits require 5 blockchain confirmations before they appear in the Crypto.com App. After confirming compatibility, a small test deposit can help you check the process before sending more.
How much do you need to buy TAO?
You can start with as little as US$1 when buying Bittensor on Crypto.com. In practice, this means you can buy a fraction of TAO rather than a full token.
