What are Avalanche and AVAX?
Avalanche is an open-source blockchain platform for decentralized finance applications and enterprise blockchain deployments. AVAX is Avalanche’s native utility token.
On Avalanche, AVAX is used to pay transaction fees and help protect the platform through validator participation. When you trade Avalanche in the Crypto.com App, you’re trading AVAX.
How to trade Avalanche in the US
In the Crypto.com App, the basic flow is:
- Download the App and complete identity verification.
- Fund your account with a supported method.
- Open the trading interface.
- Select Avalanche, choose a trading pair and review the order.
- Confirm the transaction if the details work for you.
How can you fund an Avalanche trade?
You need funds in your account before you trade. The App supports fiat deposits, such as United States dollars (USD) and crypto transfers for funding an Avalanche trade.
Available fiat methods can include bank transfer, credit card or debit card, depending on your region. If you transfer crypto into the App instead, make sure the token is supported and the deposit address is correct before sending. Trying to deposit a non-supported token may result in the loss of tokens, and crypto transactions are irreversible.
What should you check before confirming an AVAX trade?
Before you confirm, review the selected Avalanche trading pair and any costs shown in the App. Trading costs may include transaction fees and spread. Check the App for the current fee schedule and spread before confirming.
Crypto markets operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. That availability doesn’t remove market risk: Crypto assets are inherently volatile, and the value of your AVAX or other holdings can go up or down after a trade.
