What are Litecoin and LTC?
Litecoin (LTC) is digital money built for instant, near-zero cost payments anywhere in the world. It runs on peer-to-peer technology, so transactions and issuance are managed collectively by the network rather than a central authority.
How to send Litecoin in the Crypto.com App
In the Crypto.com App, the basic send flow is:
- Go to 'Accounts', tap 'Crypto Wallet' and find your Litecoin balance.
- Select 'Transfer', then 'Withdraw'.
- Choose 'Crypto.com Users' to send to another App user, or 'External Wallet' for an outside address.
- Enter the amount of Litecoin, check the network details and confirm the withdrawal with your preferred protection method, such as two-factor authentication (2FA).
What fees apply when sending Litecoin?
It depends on the route. When you send Litecoin to another Crypto.com App user, the transfer is instant and free. Other fees, spreads or transfer limits may apply.
If you withdraw Litecoin to an external wallet, standard network withdrawal fees apply. Check the transaction details, fees and limits in the App before you confirm, as the current minimum withdrawal amounts and fees are listed in the App's Fees & Limits section.
What should you check before an external Litecoin withdrawal?
For an external Litecoin withdrawal, use a supported external address and confirm the address format before you send. The Crypto.com App supports Litecoin addresses starting with L, M and LTC. If you want to withdraw to an LTC address starting with 3 or 1, use the conversion tool first.
You'll also need to add a new external address to your approved whitelist before sending to it. Confirm the addition with your preferred protection method, such as 2FA.
Once a blockchain transaction is authorised and confirmed on the network, it can't be cancelled or reversed. In most cases, LTC withdrawals should take no longer than two hours to process, subject to network conditions.
