What are Ethereum and ETH?
Ethereum is a decentralised blockchain network that supports smart contracts, which are programs that run on the network. Ether (ETH) is Ethereum's native cryptocurrency.
In this send flow, ETH is the asset you transfer. ETH is also used to pay Ethereum transaction fees, called gas, whenever someone uses Ethereum or the applications built on it.
How to send ETH in the Crypto.com App
In the Crypto.com App, you can send ETH to another App user or withdraw it to an external wallet.
- Open the App, go to 'Accounts', then tap 'Crypto Wallet' to find your ETH balance.
- Select 'Transfer', then tap 'Withdraw'.
- Choose 'Crypto.com Users' for another App user, or 'External Wallet' for an outside address.
- Enter the amount, check the network details and verify the withdrawal with your preferred protection method, such as two-factor authentication (2FA).
What does sending ETH cost?
Sending ETH to another Crypto.com App user is instant and free of charge. Other fees, spreads or transfer limits may apply.
If you withdraw ETH to an external wallet, standard network withdrawal fees apply. Network costs can vary, so review the transaction details and network costs in the App before you confirm.
What should you check before an external ETH withdrawal?
For a new external address, the App requires withdrawal whitelisting. Add the address to your approved whitelist and verify it with your preferred protection method, such as 2FA, before you use it for transfers.
Confirm that the receiving wallet or platform supports the ETH you're transferring. If you're not sure, check with the wallet's developers or support team first. Once a blockchain transaction is authorised and confirmed on the network, you can't cancel or reverse it to get your ETH back.
