What are BNB and BNB Chain?
BNB is the native coin of the BNB Chain ecosystem. It is used to pay transaction fees when interacting with BNB Smart Chain (BSC) and opBNB.
BNB Smart Chain is compatible with Ethereum tooling. It is also built for decentralised applications (dApps). When you send BNB, you're moving that asset to another Crypto.com App user or to an external wallet address.
How to send BNB in the Crypto.com App
Here's the basic flow:
- Open the Crypto.com App, go to 'Accounts', tap 'Crypto Wallet' and find your BNB balance.
- Select 'Transfer', then tap 'Withdraw'.
- Choose 'Crypto.com Users' for another App user or 'External Wallet' for an outside address.
- Enter the BNB amount, double-check the network details and verify the withdrawal with your preferred protection method, such as two-factor authentication (2FA).
What fees can apply when sending BNB?
It depends on the route. Sending BNB to another Crypto.com App user is instant and free of charge.
If you withdraw BNB to an external wallet, standard network withdrawal fees apply. Other fees, spreads or transfer limits may also apply, so check the transaction details and network costs in the App before you confirm.
What should you check before sending BNB externally?
Use the exact public address of the receiving wallet and double-check the network details. For some networks, you may also need a destination tag or memo.
Withdrawal whitelisting is mandatory in the App for external transfers. Before you can send BNB to a new external address, you need to add it to your approved whitelist and verify the addition with a protection method such as 2FA.
Blockchain transfers are irreversible. Once a transaction is authorised and confirmed on the network, you can't cancel or reverse it to get your BNB back.
