What are Avalanche and AVAX?
Avalanche is a blockchain platform. AVAX is its native utility token: it's used to pay Avalanche network fees, support proof-of-stake validation and provide a unit of account between Avalanche L1 blockchains.
Avalanche uses three blockchains, each with its own job. The C-Chain handles smart contracts. The P-Chain coordinates validators and Avalanche L1 operations, while the X-Chain supports asset creation and transfers.
How to send Avalanche in the Crypto.com App
- Open the Crypto.com App, go to 'Accounts', tap 'Crypto Wallet' and find your Avalanche balance.
- Select 'Transfer', then tap 'Withdraw'.
- Choose 'Crypto.com Users' to send to another App user, or 'External Wallet' for a supported outside address.
- Enter the amount, double-check the network details and verify the withdrawal using a protection method, such as two-factor authentication (2FA).
What fees can apply when sending AVAX?
Transfers routed to another Crypto.com App user are instant and free of charge. Other fees, spreads or transfer limits may apply.
If you withdraw AVAX to an external wallet, standard network withdrawal fees apply. Check the transaction details and network costs in the App before you confirm.
Can an Avalanche transfer be reversed?
No. Once an Avalanche transaction is authorised and confirmed on the blockchain, it can't be cancelled or reversed.
Before you send, check the recipient's exact wallet address and the network details. If you're sending Avalanche to a new external address in the App, you'll need to add it to your approved withdrawal whitelist first and verify the addition with a protection method such as 2FA.
