Proof of Replication (PoRep)

Proof of Replication (PoRep) is a proof system used to demonstrate the dedication of unique resources to storing replicas of a data file.

PoRep is often used by projects in the decentralised storage space, where participants offer their storage space to the network in exchange for incentives, such as cryptocurrency rewards. Examples of such projects include Filecoin, which uses a Proof of Replication mechanism to ensure that network participants are storing the data they claim to store.
