What is Axie Infinity

Axie Infinity is an online game on a blockchain partly owned and controlled by its players. It lets players acquire, breed, grow, battle, and trade token-based monsters known as Axies. Axie Infinity Shards (AXS) is the Axie Infinity ecosystem's governance token.

AXS holders may earn prizes by staking their tokens, playing the game, and voting in critical governance decisions. Players can earn AXS when playing various games within the Axie Infinity Universe and through user-generated content initiatives.

A Brief History of Axie Infinity

Sky Mavis, a Vietnamese developer, released Axie Infinity in 2018. The game had about 1 million daily players as of August 2021, and Axie Infinity became the biggest crypto app on the Ethereum blockchain in the summer of 2021.

You may earn AXS by engaging in user-generated content initiatives and playing games in the Axie Infinity metaverse. Additionally, you can claim rewards from participating in governance votes or by staking your AXS, albeit staking rewards are escrowed for one year from the moment they are claimed.

Axie Infinity faced various updates over time. Fundamentally, the Axie Infinity team made several adjustments to the Ronin Block Explorer and various bug fixes. Second, there will be modifications to the game's dynamics: the new version will allow players to invite their friends to battle. Last but not least, the game's economy has undergone considerable adjustments. The developers worked hard to improve the game's tokenomics. The ability to stake AXS, the game's governance token, has been extended to players and traders.

On Jan 2022, Sky Mavis has launched a new Axie Infinity releasing a feature that will allow Axie holders to burn their NFTs. However, unlike traditional token or coin burns, the Axie Infinity burns - or releases - include certain extra elements that reward players with new things.

How Axie Infinity Works

Axie Infinity is a game that rewards players for playing. Axies, which are animated figures, are called pets by players. PVP battles, breeding Axies, selling them on the Marketplace, and acquiring rare Axies are excellent ways to earn money. Smooth Love Potions are necessary to breed Axies. SLPs, like all other cryptocurrencies, are very volatile.

Playing the game allows you to earn AXS tokens. This culminates in a Ready Player One-style quest where players may obtain access to a section of the cosmos. Instead of winning, the game rewards players for their skill and effort.

Because Axies is a currency in their own right, players may breed creatures and trade or sell them for other crypto or real-world money.

What is Axie Infinity Used for

Gamers specifically use Axie Infinity to scale up their earning potential. It is a play-to-earn game that can earn money by different methodologies, and in true demand and supply fashion, the players estimate the value.

Axie Infinity intends to be a mature game that gets players hooked with a robust community and a thriving ecosystem. For lovers of Pokémon or Final Fantasy, Axie Infinity provides a pleasant gaming experience to jump into.

According to the study, as of Dec 2021, Axie Infinity had 8.3 million players and is expected to exceed the 10 million mark by the end of 2021. The game has more than a million active daily users, making it possibly the most frequently played blockchain game. If the game can acquire an even bigger user base, it will undoubtedly bring more value to the ecosystem. As we've said previously, the Ronin sidechain stimulates even more significant growth. A future free-to-play version should likewise do the same. By playing Axie Infinity, players may earn both AXS and SLP tokens. Players are free to exchange these tokens for other cryptocurrencies. There are already many players generating money from playing Axie Infinity.
