Titled Web3 Fashion • The Origin Story, the activation will take over the whole of the Galeries Lafayette Champs-Élysées atrium area.
The exhibition is a three part immersive extended reality experience. Throughout three stages, guests are taken through the journey of fashion waste birth and how it is reused and recycled in Web3 with augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). The journey is constructed from upcycled materials and culminates in a virtual reality display of phygital wearable NFT works curated by CFS HUB available for try-on and purchase.
In continuation of the annual CFS HUB, supported by Kering with their Materials Innovation Lab, lablaco is connecting pioneering technology innovators with designers of the future, to accelerate the transition to fashion digitization and circularity. They will collaborate In piloting sustainable and circular IoT (Internet of Things) products, which will be available to explore and purchase both physically and digitally in the form of phygital NFTs via AR and VR technologies.
Guests will have the opportunity explore an exclusive immersive experience of the CFS HUB in VR and AR via SPIN at Web3 Fashion • The Origin Story at the physical location of Galeries Lafayette Champs-Élysées. All purchases at the exhibition will be accessible using cryptocurrency with official partner Crypto.com, the world’s fastest-growing platform of its kind.
This collaboration demonstrates the shared commitment of Crypto.com and of lablaco to action that benefits the environment drawing on innovative technologies.
“Providing more ways for consumers to engage with cryptos while also supporting the development of the Web3 ecosystem is central to our vision at Crypto.com,” said Eric Anziani, President and Chief Operating Officer of Crypto.com. “We are excited to partner with lablaco’s SPIN in bringing this exhibition to life and at an incredible venue in Paris.”
With the application of SPIN, customers can discover each product’s timeline, which is authentically traced on the blockchain and connected via the SPIN exclusive IoT label printer. The technology prints unique QR-code fabric labels that are sewn onto each garment at the manufacturing level. Using any smartphone, customers can easily scan the code to visualize the item’s journey, impact, and ownership via AR (with their phones) and VR (with Meta Quest headsets). Customers receive digital ownership of the 3D digital twins of the garments that unlock made-to-order purchases of their physical counterparts, using fiat currencies or cryptocurrencies via Crypto.com.
Collaborative and circular IoT products, realized by the innovation and design partnerships, will be available to explore and purchase both physically and digitally in the form of phygital NFTs via augmented reality) and virtual reality technologies. Crypto.com users will also have the opportunity to receive exclusive access to the exhibited phygital NFTs.
Together, SPIN by lablaco, Galeries Lafayette Champs Elysées, and Crypto.com are activating the future of Web3 circular retail models. The phygital exhibition activates transparency and user ownership as well as displays the practical usage of VR and AR technology.
